About Nuvena. Nuvena builds Navio, the Execution Operating System: every promise a company makes or is owed — in a contract or to a team — gets an owner, a follow-up and proof.
Role Summary
You build the core of Navio OS. As a Product Engineer on the backend, you design, build and run the Java services behind it: the APIs, workflow engines and integrations that enterprises depend on every day. You own what you build, from the first design to production and every day after.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build Navio's core services in Java with Spring Boot, and Kotlin where it fits: APIs, workflow and rules engines, background jobs and integrations with customer systems.
- Turn product requirements into clean service designs and data models, and take every feature from design to production without hand-holding.
- Write tested, reviewed code, and own the performance, logging, monitoring and reliability of everything you ship.
- Work with the frontend, AI and automation engineers on shared contracts, data models and releases.
- Find the slow, manual or fragile parts of the system and fix them before anyone asks.
Must Have
- 2–3 years of hands-on Java in production, with strong core Java, object-oriented design and data structures.
- Real project work with Spring or Spring Boot; Kotlin exposure counts.
- Solid with relational databases, REST APIs and Git.
- Can explain the design behind your code, and defend or change it on the merits.
- Uses AI coding tools to move faster without lowering the bar.
- Takes ownership and finishes what you start.
Good To Have
- Microservices, messaging or cloud deployment experience.
- Kotlin in production, or Android.
- Experience building B2B or enterprise software.
